The app that was supposedly announced on the Apple 4s launching day has finally made a debut in iTunes store today.

One of the much anticipated app for iOS users, the official Facebook app for iPad, promises a bunch of features that the desktop/browser version has to offer.  The iPad version includes features such as notifications, chat, search, status updates and messages. One greatest addition to the Facebook for iPad version is the ability to play Facebook games in full-screen mode.

Former Facebook engineer Jeff Verkoeyen, who now works for Google, once said that the Facebook for iPad app has been readily available for months. But its ever changing ‘official lauching’ delays made him decide to leave Facebook for Google.

Today, Amazon revealed a brand new colored screen tablet, Amazon Fire. The announcement was made by Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos today at around 10 a.m. ET.

For the past few weeks, Amazon’s reps refused to tell any information about the product and even denied its existence. Nevertheless,  the Android-based tablet, Amazon’s Kindle Fire, is already here with a hefty price tag of $199.

Hefty, it is, considering that it lacks the integration of a camera, microphone or 3G. Let’s take a look at the Kindle Fire on the paper after the jump.

One most notable information that is indicated on the recent banner ad that LG just released is the promised Gingerbread update for LG Optimus 2x, Optimus Black and Optimus One. Many Optimus users have been long waiting for the said update and it seems that LG is pretty serious this time about finally releasing the Gingerbread update for such Optimus devices. Beyond the Box recently opened its doors to their newest Apple Premium Reseller Store at the Newport Mall, Resort’s World Manila in Pasay City last August 26, 2011 and we were one of the lucky member of the new media to witness this event.

The new store offered Resort’s World shoppers a complete line-up of Apple products such as Macbook Pro, iMac, Macbook Air, Mac Mini, Mac Pro, iPad 1/2, iPod and iPhone along with a variety of its accessories.

The launching day was hosted by VJ Vanessa Chan together with PhilMug Chairman Elbert Cuenca. Local celebrities such as Kelly Misa, Ms. Tessa Prieto-Valdez and model Sonya Smith were also spotted at the event bringing more spark at the said launching event.

Apple has just announced the biggest news today concerning the resignation of its biggest man, the co-founder and two-time CEO of Apple, Steve Jobs, who has been in poor health as 2011 enters.

Steve Jobs published the following resignation letter:

“I have always said if there ever came a day when I could no longer meet my duties and expectations as Apple’s CEO, I would be the first to let you know. Unfortunately, that day has come.

I hereby resign as CEO of Apple. I would like to serve, if the Board sees fit, as Chairman of the Board, director and Apple employee.

As far as my successor goes, I strongly recommend that we execute our succession plan and name Tim Cook as CEO of Apple.

I believe Apple’s brightest and most innovative days are ahead of it. And I look forward to watching and contributing to its success in a new role.

I have made some of the best friends of my life at Apple, and I thank you all for the many years of being able to work alongside you.”

Apple made it clear though that Steve wont be leaving them for good, he will still be there sitting at his desk on just a different office as Apple’s chairman of the board. This made some speculations that this whole thing was already pre-planned.

Steve will be replaced by a not so strange person to Apple, Tim Cook who once tried sitting as Apple CEO.

While this news is so new and still might not yet “sync” in to some people’s heads, I’d like to share with you my personal “Steve moment” favorite circa 1984. This is where the “talking computer” encountered the humanity for the first time ever.

South Korean smartphone maker, LG Mobile, just recently announced the newest addition to their Android family of devices, the LG Optimus Sol.

The first wave of this newest smartphone from LG will be released primarily in Europe by mid-September to be shortly followed by Central and South America release. There’s no word yet if this will be rolled out in Asia but hopefully it will.

LG strongly believe that this upcoming smartphone will stand out from its competitors by delivering a high end device at the most affordable cost.

Unlike its Optimus siblings, the 2x and Black, the LG Optimus Sol will be equipped with Android 2.3 right out of the box.
