4g technology is the fourth generation of cellular wireless standards and is the successor to the 3G and 2G technology that can deliver high speed broadband access. And today, Globe Telecommunications, the first and largest 4G network in the country, is proudly introducing the 4g mobile technology to the Philippine mobile market.
To date, Globe Telecom is the first company to launch 4g mobile technology in the Philippines as a major expansion of its current 4G WIMAX.
Globe’s 4g mobile currently covers across Metro Manila area, including Marikina, Quezon City, Makati, Pasay, Las Pinas, Taguig and the City of Manila, and they’re planning to further expand its coverage in 2012. Various 4G LTE devices’ launch are also being prepared by Globe Telecom in line with its launching of the 4g mobile technology.
“Globe is again pioneering innovation in the Philippines. With the uptake in broadband both on mobile and through other devices, customers want faster broadband in more places. Globe is continuously looking for ways to improve our network infrastructure to meet the demand for quality services. In 2009, we were the first carrier to launch 4G through our WiMax network. Today, we extend our leadership by taking 4G mobile. With our high speed broadband rollout, Globe will continue to lead in customer experience by giving our subscribers better, faster, and more reliable broadband connections on their phone, laptop, PC or tablet.” says Mr. Ernest Cu, President and CEO of Globe Telecom
Today, 4g mobile technology is being offered in the US by various wireless companies and its widely available across its multiple states. 4G LTE devices are also becoming available in the market as these wireless companies expands their scope of services.
Its good to know that such technology is also introduced in the Philippines as we Filipinos are becoming more and more technology driven these days.
I myself as a full time blogger need this. I remember an instance when we went out of town somewhere in Baguio where the internet 3g signal is very intermittent. I was so excited to blog about the getaway experience right away but I ended up waiting for my article to be published like forever.
Another instance is when I needed to call a friend abroad to ask something important. I even loaded my account for a week of unlimited surfing but it was all a waste of my money as I can barely understand what my call recipient is telling me because my internet is so slow.
Remembering my bad experiences with the current available wireless service made me want to have this 4g wireless service that Globe is launching. I can now possibly enjoy fast mobile internet speeds and update my social media accounts, communicate with other people abroad and update my blogs anywhere and anytime I want.
In the following video courtesy of ABS-CBN news, Jaime Augusto Zobel de Ayala, Chairman of Ayala Corp., explained Globe Telecom’s edge against their soon to be competitors with the 4g wireless technology.
Kudos Globe Telecom!
